KARNATAKA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (KPSC)

For an effective administration of the Government, it is the policy of the Government to recruit dynamic youngsters in the administration of the State. For this purpose Gazetted probationers Rules of 1966 has been introduced. 
It is provided in the Rules that the Commission should invite applications from the eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts coming under Group I & II Civil Service posts. Upto 1997, these examinations were conducted at a single stage followed by Personality Test. 
In the year 1997 this procedure was given up and the rules were amended on the lines of Civil Service examinations conducted by the U.P.S.C.  

KPSC KAS SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
As per the 1997 Rules the competitive examination comprises of;
1. KPSC KAS Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for the Selection of candidates to the main examination ;and

2. KPSC KAS Main Examination (Written Examination) for selection of candidates to the personality test.
3. KPSC Personality test: For final selection of candidates to various posts/ caders. 

Karnataka Public Service Commission has invited online for the recruitment of Group A & B (Gazetted Probationary) KAS (Karnataka Administrative Services) Application Form. The organization wants to hire 106 skilled and passionate contenders for Group A & B Gazetted Probationary Posts.

KPSC KAS Eligibility Criteria :

As per Rule 7 of Karnataka Recruitment of Gazetted Probationers (Appointment by Competitive Examinations) Rules,1997 and (8th Amendment) Rules, 2010 - No candidate shall be eligible for recruitment under these rules unless he /she possesses a Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree awarded by a University established by Law in India or possesses an equivalent qualification.

Provided that, candidates who have appeared for an examination, passing of which would render them educationally qualified for preliminary examination conducted by the Commission, but the results of which have not been declared, are also eligible for admission to such preliminary examination.

All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for taking the Gazetted Probationers (Main) Examination shall be required to produce proof of passing the requisite Examination along with their application of the Main examination failing which such candidates shall  not be admitted to the Main examination. 

KPSC Age :

   Minimum age - 21 years (06-03-199)
   Maximum age - 35 years (06-03-1985) 

No. of Attempts in the KPSC Examination:

   For SC/ST - Unlimited number of attempts
   Other backward caste- 7 attempts
   General - 5 attempts

KPSC Application Fees :

For General : Rs. 600 /-
For  2A, 2B, 3A & 3B: Rs.300/-

For  Ex-Military Person: Rs.50/-.
